hear my car roar

Hello all who have venture to my Very New Rambler page
I have just recently purchased a , another hobby to take on, hehehe. This car is running and legal for the street, but I got it for a very small price,( actually I traded a Drum set and, a set of Einkie 5 star wheels [15x7-5on5] ). I will soon have a picture or two of the car posted here, but I need to get film for the camera first. I am going to set links in here for more info on the AMC line of cars.
Mail me your links and or Photos of your AMC car and let me know what you would like to see on this page.
Thanks, Adam

The Engine, is a 1975, 258 strait six. The trans. is a Torque flight 727. It has leaks every where but I am slowly fixing them as I go.

Here is a list of things I have done to this monster so far, and I will update as I go as well.

  1.   First off, I rebolted the seat back to the floor board, was flying free when I drove it home.
  2.   Removed the Glove Box cover, had no lock so it was hanging in the passengers knee area.
  3. Reset the back seat, was out to look for seat belt mounts, none found.
  4. Adjusted front brakes, needs R-front brake cylinder, will buy it when I have the extra cash.
  5. Checked timing, motor vibrates hard just above idle, no success, timing is good, found that it is most likely the Torque Converter.
  6. Drained rear end oil, found that there was none, needs seal at input shaft.
  7. Changed radiator fan, had a reversed fan, (I wonder what the guy was the thinking that put it on there)
  8. Today is May, 6, 1999- I pulled all excessories off of the motor i.e.. Alternator, Power steering pump, Fan, and pulley. I also pulled the battery, which need not be mentioned, but hey some people forget to do that one, and woo eee what a jolt you get, hehehe
  9. Pulled the Valve/Rocker cover cover off, wanting to see how we are doing inside. The rockers are tight, and it would appear that the head is either new, or has been rebuilt recently.
  10. May, 8-- Plucked the motor from the car, boy, I need a crow bar to get it back in. It came out with minor damage to the body.
  11. I pulled the engine and tranny apart, it was missing one bolt, and two of the other three were loose.
  12. The torque converter was loose, and ovaled the holes on the fly wheel. Let alone the fact that the fly wheel was on backwards, and there are three holes drilled in, talk about a vibration causer.
  13. Torque converter seems to be ok, only slight scaring on the surface, it seems to be salvageable.
  14. After the engine was pulled, I noticed a hole in the firewall, caused by the beating that the previous owner did to fit that beastly 258 in there.
